Our country’s GDP was built on energy. Without it, there is no GDP. This may seem daunting, especially considering the fragmented state of the energy sector, yet with insights from DISTRIBUTECH and the arrival of spring, we’re feeling refreshed and ready to do our part to tackle grid challenges!
That’s why we’re focusing on Grid 3.0 this month: what it is, what we’re doing to transition into this new era, and what companies can do to future-proof their business. We believe that if we work together, we can Make Things Work®!

Video Spotlight
Join James as he walks us through the journey from the Edison-Westinghouse wars to the birth of public utilities through to today in his keynote speech at DISTRIBUTECH.
And where exactly are we today? We’re on the edge of the grid, switching on Grid 3.0 for our customers!
Even a split-second lapse in power is enough to turn some businesses upside down, such as hospitals, distribution centers, and casinos.
Casinos? You bet! If you make a wager and there’s a power blip, the casino has to pay because you could have won if the power hadn’t gone out. The house doesn’t always win, after all.
Before you rush off to a casino in the middle of a storm, know this: Making the transition to Grid 3.0 is imperative for all businesses.
Stay tuned for more energy insights and interesting facts in our upcoming newsletters!
The Key to Grid 3.0 is real-time automation
We’re not talking about an Automated Transfer Switch (ATS), which is no longer ‘automated’ by today’s standards. Real-time automation means instantaneous power transfer with absolutely no interruption for critical business applications.
With true real-time automation, the grid ‘heals’ itself without the need for a human interface. Just as making a cell phone call is so seamless we don’t notice all of the ‘transfers’ happening to enable it, real-time automation means grid healing takes place immediately without us even noticing anything happened. We just go on with our day!
In the News
We can’t do our part to transition to Grid 3.0 without our customers and partners. That’s why we’re excited to announce that Cummins Inc is a new strategic supplier for e2!
With access to the company’s industry-leading generator sets, we’re scaled for tremendous growth as we help more companies future-proof their businesses with continuous, blip-free power.
